Recruiting faster with referral: the Emeria example

Recruiting faster with referral: the Emeria example

In this article, find out how to recruit faster through referral, using the example of the Emeria Group, a European leader in real estate services. In fact, this method has enabled Emeria to divide the volume of applications required for recruitment by 10.

Geoffroy Saint-Antoine, Director of Recruitment and Development for the Emeria Group, shares his experience of integrating a structured referral program.

About Emeria Group

The Emeria Group is the European leader in real estate services.

In France, it is best known for its Foncia brand. The group employs a total of 19,000 people in Europe, including 11,000 in France.

It provides a full range of real estate services, including rental management, property management, transactions, insurance, works and diagnostics.

Large-scale recruitment challenges

The group has enjoyed strong growth in recent years. As a result, this rapid evolution has required us to adapt our recruitment strategies. As a result, in just 12 months, over 3,000 new hires have been made.

To support this expansion, it was essential to adopt a centralized tool. This would not only simplify, but also harmonize co-option practices across the Group.

“It was important for us to have a single tool, directly linked to our recruitment tool, which centralizes all the offers we circulate, and which is simple for users to use.
So that our employees can refer a friend in just a few clicks.

An intuitive platform to speed up recruitment

In April 2023, Emeria deployed a unique referral program with the Keycoopt System platform. This choice was made for several reasons:

  • Firstly, seamless integration with the Digital Recruiters recruitment tool.
  • Secondly, centralized and simplified management of job offers, enabling better follow-up.
  • Last but not least, ease of use for employees, encouraging their commitment.
“We had several referral programs that coexisted without harmony.
Timeframes and bonuses were different.

Keycoopt’s support was a major asset. Indeed, a dedicated team ensured the roll-out and set-up of back-office connections. A communication plan was also drawn up to maximize adoption of the program.

Emeria Group challenges

Recruit 10 times more effectively with referral

Since the program was launched, referral has accounted for over 10% of the Group’s recruitment.

Its effectiveness is undeniable: whereas it takes an average of 100 external candidates to be recruited via a traditional advertisement, only 10 are needed thanks to referral.

Engage employees to optimize referral

In less than a year, over 70% of employees have already logged on to the platform. As a result, the program has become a reflex within the Group.

“These figures speak for themselves.
The program and the tool have been fully adopted by our teams.

To maintain this commitment, Emeria relies on ongoing communication. Every month, reminders are sent to employees to anchor referral in their habits. For example, as part of Pink October, each referral generates a donation for the fight against breast cancer.

Strategic leverage to recruit faster and better

Co-optation is at the crossroads of HR, recruitment and communication. To maximize its impact, three key elements are essential:

  • A clear, transparent policy.

  • A simple, intuitive tool.

  • Regular communication to maintain the reflex.

In this way, Emeria is a perfect example of how a well-structured and well-supported program can transform referral into a powerful recruitment and engagement lever.
